October BOD meeting. Hello Riverton!!
Last night (Oct 20th) we had our October Board meeting and this is your quick hit guide to what was covered. Official minutes will be posted on the official site once approved. The board voted for changes of titles/movement as Steve and I were ending our volunteer time as of 8 pm last night. Existing members moved into the roles of President, VP, and Treasurer as Steve and I made our official exit. We expected quite a crowd last night and fell a little short. We did have one guest who expressed interest in becoming a member, and another confirmed to join in November - although we were expecting 5+. You don't have to show up to make a difference but it's nice when people do. ~~Lake Pamela: the limitations we have as non-owners, but also as residents who want to have an enjoyable view. We cannot hire our team to officially maintain the area not owned by RCA ... but we can't get anyone else to either. ~~Dissolution of the Association - it's a question that comes up every year and no one seems to have an official answer. Thanks to our lawyer for really breaking down the logistics, we have a statement that will be publicly available today. YES, it's possible. NO, it probably won't happen. ~~ARB stuff - still some talk about signs and approvals. The main thing is - signs aren't allowed. Temporary approval for signs is an option - just ask!! Approvals for permanent changes require plans. That plan includes putting the change where you said it was going. Best plan of action is to make sure your plans match your actions so that violations can be avoided from the start :) ~~Anonymous reports for violations - we ALL deserve to live in a well maintained community. A question came to us about finding out who reports others for possible violations. Not everyone is comfortable confronting neighbors about violations. We offer the anonymous reporting as an option to alleviate that part of the problem. Do some residents abuse that option? Sure do. That's why our ARB volunteers check each report before action is taken. There's also an option to report and ask for a follow up to your complaint/concern - it's STILL anonymous. Unless you tell your neighbor that you complained, we will NEVER give that information out. The ARB acts on reports - never in retaliation or on a case by case scenario. I did miss some parts of the discussion as I unloaded my past 2 years of meeting docs to our employee Jean. She'll be uploading the docs so they are publicly available. Our goal with transparency and continuity can be achieved with technology and the involvement of our community. Although last night was my last in an official member position, I will continue to attend each meeting as a guest. The best way to keep this community moving forward is to remain informed and available to our neighbors AS informed neighbors ourselves. THANK YOU to our community for allowing Steve and I to make so much noise for the past 2 years!! Jennifer

August Meeting.
Hello Riverton!, ast night we had our August BOD meeting and these are the highlights. Full minutes will be posted to the RCA website once officially submitted. The Board officially welcomed it's newest member Kyle, and we are super excited to have a fresh set of eyes and ideas with us ~Finance stuff~ Our accountant found some charges that we were being billed for - and paying for automatically - on a credit card. This isn't necessarily new info, but we're still looking for info on what the charges are and how to get the account closed. Lots of calls and emails about assessments and how we get the totals. In a nutshell, we look at last year's spending and divide that by the amount of homes...but we like to do things a little different by throwing in a mix of commercial, vacant, and multi-family areas. Short answer = there is a formula and now there's a spreadsheet. ~Contact Info~ We are still looking for updated and valid contact info for about 40 residents. If we can't get in touch with you by phone, email, or smoke signal...we can't keep everyone on the same page. If you know someone who says they don't get correspondence from RCA or Weichert, let them know why. ~Outdoors/Common Areas~ We had an inspection done on the pool structures, community center/office, and our storage area. All need work to get updated. Maintenance Reserve Fund - we are looking at you! ~Tennis/Basketball Courts~ Lots of non-residents accessing the courts and damaging the area. We're working on a key code solution. ~Featured Family~ This is a great new feature that we will showcase in future newsletters. Do you know a great family in Riverton? Are you a great family? Send us your recommendations for who you would like highlighted and why. We'll have that family send a picture and a bio, along with why they love living in Riverton. If you would like to nominate someone, tell us why and then we'll contact them for the rest. Send your submissions to [email protected] ****A personal note from me.**** It was brought to our attention that 2 adult members of our community visited the pool and were not great neighbors. One registered, the other not. The registered party tried to convince the on duty pool supervisor that it was ok for the 2nd person to come in and then mentioned they (1st adult) were on the board. I realize there are a lot of sides to this situation, but the bottom line is we have regulations that all neighbors are asked to abide by: including the board. The board does not get special access to anything and frankly, wouldn't throw that info out there to get access. The pool is free to all RCA homeowners in good standing this year and all we've asked is that you register online ONE TIME, 24 hours in advance of your first visit. This is the type of situation that can get you and your entire family denied access to the pool. I'd love to say that most everything else is actually going pretty great considering The Plague of 2020 As always, we welcome your comments, questions, concerns, and virtual high 5s at [email protected] On behalf of the Board, ARB, office, and management team, Thank you for your continued support!
